The 13th Convocation ceremony of the Ladoke
Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH),
Ogbomoso, will see a total of 10,317
students receive their first degree certificates.
Speaking at the pre-convocation media
briefing, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adeniyi
Gbadegesin, said that 105 of the graduating
students bagged First Class honours with 50
students in 2013/2014 and 55 students in
2014/2015 academic sessions.

In a further breakdown of the results,
Gbadegesin said 2,434 students made Second
Class Upper while 5,527 students are in
Second Class Lower division and another
1,692 in the Third Class division. Also 122
graduating students bagged Third Class while
437 are in the unclassified category.

He said that for the first time LAUTECH
crossed the 100 landmark for doctorate
degrees with 112 students for Ph.D and a total
of 14,349 students set to graduate in the
postgraduates category.

The VC also disclosed that Ige Olufemi Elijah
of the Department of Mathematics and Sanni
Saidat Abidemi of the department of Statistics
emerged best graduating students for
2013/2014 and 2014/2015 respectively.

He added that the National University
Commission (NUC) has granted approval to
the university to commence a B.Sc
programme in Computer Science through Open
and Distance Learning.
