Etisalat Nigeria Limited has awarded
scholarships worth N100,000 each to 50 undergraduate students from five Nigerian Universities who achieved a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.89 and above in their academics.
The Etisalat Merit Award is a scholarship scheme designed to fulfill the company's goal of empowering the society through
knowledge acquisition and promoting education within Nigeria.
The scheme focuses on awarding grants to second and third year students enrolled in any Nigerian
University.
The beneficiaries include 10 students each from; the University of Lagos (UNILAG) , University of Benin (UNIBEN ), Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU), Ile Ife , Ladoke
Akintola University of Technology
(LAUTECH) , Ogbomoso, and Adekunle Ajasin University, Ago-Iwoye (AAUA) .
At the award ceremony, selected
representative from each of the five
universities were allotted five minutes to make a presentation of their choice on the topic, “The Etisalat Innovation Moment” and
were judged based on adaptability, value social impact, environmental impact, and rate of feasibility.
A presentation by Team UNIBEN was adjudged the best while the second and third position went to OAU and UNILAG respectively.
