A staff of University of Benin (UNIBEN) has been arrested for forging the signature and headed paper of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Chairman, UNIBEN chapter, Dr. Anthony Monye-Emina.
The suspect, a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, allegedly used the letter headed paper to write a petition to the Minister of Education, stating that Prof.Oshodin was no longer fit to man the affairs of the university due to ill health, therefore calling for an
acting VC to be appointed.
The police spokesperson who confirmed the arrest, said that they have had been on his trail for over a month and subsequently got him on Saturday.
